The Vendee Globe, which is known as the toughest sailing race, kicked off. Boris Herrmann is the first German skipper in this solo and non stop around the world race. Besides finishing the race and achieving a good position, he is also on a mission to collect a lot ot valuable data about the oceans along his way. His boat Seaexplorer carries additional technical equipment by subCtech for research on CO2 emission. Are you aware that the ocean is absorbing around 30% of the CO2 in the atmosphere? Collecting data about CO2 in the ocean especially from very remote place that the Vendee Globe leads along is a big win. In general it's a statement adding extra weight and complexity to a high- end racing machine like Seaexplorer for environmental purposes.
What a great message that connects sports, science and sustainability! We are wishing you all the best for the Vendee and our joined race for climate action - bon voyage from your homebase Hamburg🤞💪🤙
